Old Friends from the Series...

Joyce Summers-

Joyce was Buffy’s mom and therefore Dawn’s and (spiritually/mentally) Buffy Rebecca’s...She died of an aneurism following successful treatment for a brain tumor...She also had received the monks’ artificial memories of Dawn and took her for her child until her illness exposed Dawn’s artificial nature to her...

Buffy is secretly tormented by the thought that her mom’s death was a little too convenient for the monks who desparately wanted her emotionally bound to Dawn as strongly as possible in order to force her to protect the Key with her life...

In some existences, evidence has been offered that Joyce may in fact have been
Cicely's beloved cousin Henry in a previous life

cousin Henry-

Cicely's beloved cousin Henry Foxcroft, a courageous, generous, warm-hearted Victorian
Xander...Who introduced the ill-fated lovers Cicely and William after taking
an interest in the young improvished poet at Cambridge

Only after William's tragic death did he learn of his cousin's "other life"...

Rupert Giles-

Buffy’s beloved Watcher, appointed to assist the Slayer in her fight by the Council of Watchers based in England...He is also a sorcerer of considerable ability but has generally limited his use of magic as he apparently once tended to abuse his powers as a young man...He is a skilled researcher and has in the past masked his true work by working as the Sunnydale High librarian and more recently as the owner of the Magic Shop...

His relationship with Buffy has become that of a father, especially as her own father has had very little contact over the years...

He is extremely reserved and tends to embarass easily, the image of a middle-aged British scholar. However this is in a part a pose which masks a very dark side which he has struggled against in the past...He can be utterly ruthless in defending Buffy, although he realizes that it is best to keep to his own job in most situations as it might endanger the Slayer fight with her...

In some of the Cicelyverse existences, evidence has come to light that he was in fact Cicely's beloved father in 1880.

SimonFarris

Cicely's sinister and fiendishly ambitious Watcher...Call him the 'anti-Giles'...Brilliant and utterly without scruple, Simon Farris was a master at deception and deceit
Appointed Watcher to Cicely Addams on her thirteenth birthday, his skillful training and insight into the underworld helped to make her the greatest and longest-lived Slayer to her time
Unparalleled as well in his ability to dissemble his emotions, he cleverly played on his remarkable protege's loneliness and alienation from her rather distant and domineering father, Sir Richard...
His only genuine emotion being his twisted but sincere love and desire for what he deems his creation, Cicely the Vampire Slayer...
An emotion as easily turned to jealous rage and bitter hatred

Buffy Summers-

The chosen Slayer, given the superhuman strength to kill the demons and vampires of the world who emerge by way of the Hellmouth, a portal to the underworld opening in Sunnydale...She struggles to maintain a semblance of a normal young woman’s life while battling evil with her friends...

She has made the decision to operate differently from other Slayers in that she keeps friends and family close by...This has been a source of great strength to her and allowed her to outlive most Slayer life-spans...But comes at a price as she realizes she is putting those she loves in constant danger of what may be worse than death...

In general a deeply loving and sympathetic person, her Slayer work requires her to shield her heart from those evil ones who would manipulate it...She can therefore seem almost callous at times in her dealings with vampires and other evil forces...And at times even with humans. She fears that her work may in fact lead to her becoming unable to love. And dreads where the darker nature of the Slayers may eventually lead her...

Recently, in one existence she provided the neural template for her
robot-bodied, human-souled twin sister, Buffy Rebecca, built by a sympathetic
Dr. Warren Mears for Spike with no clue as to what they were actually
bringing into the world...

Buffy has further been troubled since in her various existences by hints that
she has known Spike in a past life...

She is, of course, the reincarnation of Cicely Addams Walthrop...
Though her rememberance of things past is slow, triggered in some existences
only by her resurrection...

Angel-

Angel appeared as a mysterious helper to Buffy and her friends early on and was later revealed to be a vampire...With the sadistic and feared Angelis as his demon. Cursed by the gypsy father of one of his victims to regain his human soul...and the remorse that comes with it, Angel is not allowed to experience pure happiness without losing his soul and the redemption he has been painfully earning. Therefore, although he and Buffy fell deeply in love, he has learned at great cost to himself and Buffy that he cannot be with her without the danger of losing out to Angelis...At least until his redemption is complete...

The question of why he did not seek a cure has finally been answered...
He has recently learned that his actual true love was not in fact Buffy
the human soul of his siress, Darla...With whose vampiral counterpart (and
and no doubt with the help of that soul) he has had a son, Connor..

To Buffy's chagrin...

He now works in LA, running a unique investigation agency with the help of Cordelia and Wesley which fights demons and evil of all sorts...

He’s noble and true...A bit overbroody and solemn about his “mission” at times...Spike, even in reformed mode, sometimes finds him hard to take...Though Spike never cared much for Angelis either...

He is sire vampire to Drusilla...And therefore Spike’s grandsire...

Which makes him an important figure in the Cicelyverse...Where Cicely's
reincarnated soul initially mistook him for William...Vaguely seeking for a vampire
with a human soul still present...But not fully up on her memories of the past
Nor aware that William was too trapped in his demon to make himself known

...At least until the chip...

Darla-

An old vampire, sired by the Master...She sired Angel and is one of the more powerful vamps ever on the series...She seems to possess considerable humanity at times, even to the extent of having some feeling for her vamp “family” of Angel, Dru, and Spike... but is clearly very bitter over her fate...Not to mention over losing her Angelis to Angel...And Buffy...

Although Buffy knows her, she is a master of disguise and has changed her appearance many times...

Jonathan and Andrew-

In the Cicely- and BR-verses, our favorite nerds are generally good-hearted, if on occasion susceptible to the influences of various evil types...
In 1880, Jonathan and Andrew lived past lives as respectively a rising young barrister and a somewhat bumbling, if stout-hearted merchant
(Andrew's earlier self using the last name Fowler in 1880 as opposed to Wells in 2002+)

Drusilla-

William's insane and fiendish siress, Angelus' tragic and innocent victim, Dru is both Cicely-Buffy's worst enemy...As demon...And dear friend...As soul...
Though Cicely-Buffy as both Cicely and Buffy desire nothing so much as the destruction of the monster who took Will from them that night in 1880,
they are aware that others had graver responsibility in his murder and therefore can respect restored William's desire to help the soul of the young and innocent woman he met only in the shadows of Limbo...
